Gibbs #4, 3/4″ Spring-Loaded, Aluminum Shell

These ascenders are designed to be used with 14-19 mm rope. Gibbs ascenders are different than other ascenders, requiring two hands and a bit more involvement to install and remove from the rope.  They are designed not to slip in extreme conditions, such as extreme mud and ice. 

 

This #4 model is intended for rescue and rigging. It has a thick aluminum shell and utilizes a spring loaded cam system to keep the ascender in tension when climbing rope.
